“Come on Moony, Prongs— Snivy’s down at the boathouse already!” The Marauders were always up to no good, and with Peter setting up their latest plot, the inexorable embarrassment Severus was to face drew closer and closer as the boys dashed by a particular girl. James rushed ahead to with Remus not far behind, cursing that they should be nicer to their fellow student. Sirius, on the other hand, needed to stop and hide himself whilst he tinkered with one of the main devices one last time.
This had to be perfect.
The group of boys ran right past her– and she nearly lost her balance, stumbling back a few steps. Eyes wide, she looked in the direction that they had run off into, quite concerned about what was going. Meddling in time was a dangerous thing; if she did something in the past, it would effect the future. But she had absolutely no idea exactly how far in the past she had traveled.
Something was off. Had she turned it far too many times? Simply looking around, one might not be able to tell the difference. But there was something inside her gut that told her she wasn’t in the same year anymore.
