“I don’t see how it’s any of your business, but since you’re so concerned - yes, I do, in fact, ‘know what I’m doing’. Now why don’t you take your bushy head back to your own cauldron?”

image

She swallowed; this earned the girl a glare. Of course, she was only asking - but sometimes, it came across completely wrong and sort of accusing. Which certainly wasn’t the actual case.

"I was just going to say,
                                         I really don’t think you
                                         should be putting that
                                         in there. That’s all.”

hopefulpuppet:

“No its fine! It can be fixed, I promise!”

image

“No, you don’t understand!” The girl exclaimed, completely distraught. A piece of parchment was in her hands; eyes were wide as she stared at it. “I cannot believe this– I’ve got a T! Snape gave me a T! There must be a mistake.”

” If I got myself expelled they’ll snap my wand - not that it’s not already broken in half but still! Then I wouldn’t ever be allowed to do magic and I’d rather suffer through Snape’s class than that. Besides, why would I need books when you’ve got the whole library in your head? You can teach me better than some boring old textbook any day.”

He turned his head to look at her, resting his chin on his hands after fluffing up his bag slightly. That should be enough of a compliment to get her to help him with Potions without nagging him to death.

image

The compliment did, in fact, work on her. She could not set aside a stray student, even if they had the ability to be incredibly annoying whenever she was just beginning to think they could get along. With her head held high, she then stood up, walked around to where he was seated and took a seat beside him for easier access.

“Alright, I will help you - but only because I think it would do Gryffindor better if you didn’t fail and possibly lose us more points. No way will we win at this rate.”

❝Fine, perhaps if you stopped acting like miss high and mighty then I’d be more than inclined to assist you. ❞

       “Little miss high and mighty?”

The witch stared at the other,
completely having trouble fathoming her words.

“You’re joking. When have I ever done such a thing?
All I have said to you is that I completely despise
                   those who use others for their own personal gain;
like making me do your work and then claiming it
is your own. That has nothing to do with acting all
high and mighty. It is having common sense.”

“—I know,” She uttered. “I’ve been told yer the smartest person in our House.” Hence why she came to the bushy haired girl.

Lou Ellen sat down and fumbled with her bag as she fished out her notes. She cleared her throat once more before pointing out where she got stuck. “Righ’ here. Between the Goosegrass an’ the Ger…Germander?”

The blonde paused for a bit. “—I did study, I promise!”

“I wouldn’t claim that I am the smartest. I, however, have studied each and every course – all the books, I have read at least ten times and there is not a plant I cannot name. I have heard that Neville is quite interested in Herbology, but I can assure you that I am the best when it comes to tutoring another.”

If there was one thing she was confident in, it was her studying habits. She could study for hours at a time, finding herself completely lost in the materials because of the way they would sweep her up– honestly, learning that she was a witch has only done her good. She raised her brows at the female. “You are aware of what Goosegrass is, right?”

hopefulpuppet

“No, no, no! This can’t be happening.”

“Do you even know what you’re doing?
                  Or are you simply guessing?”

therunninggoddess:

Yes, sometimes I think boys do not know how to be quiet.” she said as she moved to sit in the empty spot, a laugh leaving her lips.

She gave a nod of her head as she answered “I quite enjoy reading. What book is that?”

It was refreshing to hear that the lady did indeed read. Not that Hermione would have been angry had she said she didn’t; not everyone enjoyed books as she did. Quite happily, she handed the book over to her. “It’s, err.. well, it’s a muggle book, you could say. My mum sent it over by owl. It’s amusing, her using an owl to deliver me a package. Anyways, it’s called ‘The English Patient’.”

therunninggoddess:

“Queen, actually, but Princess sounds much more magical.”

“Hermione? That is a wonderful name.” Isis smiled softly down at the girl, motioning to the empty spot beside the girl with one hand, “Might I sit?”

image

This woman was very polite– she seemed to be a pleasure to be around and that was something that the girl looked up to. So when she asked to sit, she was more than eager to allow her to. “Please do. Whilst I came out here to get away from the loud boys in the common room, I am quite pleased to have met someone like you.” Then, she glanced down at the book on her lap– hmm.

                                                              “Do you read?”

The blonde girl was a wee bit embarrassed.

Never had she expected she actually needed help with studying. The Herbology exam was coming up, and Lou was still, still, still messing up the names.

So the little lion hesitantly took a few steps towards the brightest person in their House: Hermione something-or-the-other Granger. (Lou did not know her second name.)

“Erm, ‘scuse me, but…would ya…do—can ya help me?” She cleared her throat. “I mean—we have an exam soon. An’…I really could use the help.”

Pause.

“I’m Lou Ellen, by the by.” She rambles a lot, too.

When she was approached regarding schoolwork, the young girl was more than happy to comply. She was always up for teaching other fellow students on what she knew, and felt rather proud of herself whenever she could be of use. She patted the seat beside her and then reached into her bag, pulling out her notes for herbology.

“Hello Lou Ellen. I’m Hermione Granger and I would be more than pleased to help you with your schoolwork.” She then grabbed a quill along with a fresh piece of parchment, both set on the table in front. “Now, where exactly are you stuck?”
