I must become a lion hearted girl, ready for fight before I make the final sacrifice. Here I am, a rabbit hearted girl, frozen in the headlights. It seems I've made the final sacrifice.
the words were lost , her hand gripped the knife as she overlooked the infected she had just killed — breathing heavily, she turned to the girl, not quite catching onto what she was referring to.
—until she was informed by ellie’s green orbs focusing on the witch’s arm.
a bite mark.
no, this wasn’t happening. it wasn’t supposed to happen. not like this. not here.
hermione’s eyes fell shut, a small lip bite and then she reopened them, looking to the younger girl who stood beside her. no, she had to be strong for ellie. she had to.
“no— I don’t even feel it. It’ll be fine. You’ll be fine.”
She had froze up at the sight in front of her; surely she had never seen such a.. horrendus thing before. She couldn’t even begin to describe whatever it was.
If she stayed quiet, maybe they wouldn’t see. It was too distracted devouring it’s latest meal, leaving the girl alone – for now.
A few more steps and she would be out of the building and away from the God awful smell.
CLANK–
Her foot had caught an empty bottle. And at that very moment, the creature’s head popped up, made this horrible noise, and then headed straight toward her.
She swallowed, hand reaching for her wand, but the thing had grabbed her before she could do any real damage. No, she would have to rely on her physical strength for this one.
“Uh,” there’s a pause. She hesitates for a moment, but the other female seems friendly and it’s completely natural to suspect people in times like these, especially when she wasn’t wrong; there was something different in Ellie. “It’s Ellie.”
It was perfectly normal for the younger girl to hesitate. This world wasn’t safe. It was dangerous to even state one’s own name. A small smile is brought to Hermione’s lips, purely because the other seemed to somewhat feel alright with the witch. And it was a good call because she had no intentions of harming her. Not unless she gave her a reason to.
She looked the female over, lips pursed slightly. No, there was something different about the girl, though the witch could not place what. Whatever the case, she had to be s p e c i a l to survive in these sorts of surroundings.
Sometimes, most times, he’s pretty dense… but that looked like more than an out-of-the-box magic trick… though, judging by the reaction given, it was clear he wasn’t supposed to know. So, he played dumb —— he had a degree in that, it seemed. “ I’d ask how you did it, but… a magician never reveals her secrets, right? ” A smile is given, maybe there’s a subtle wink in there, too, hidden beneath the thickness of ashy blond bang.
This was a bit uncomfortable for the witch. Was he merely pretending to have not seen? But even if he had, surely it would be hard for him to fully understand what she was. Rationalizing with herself did not make herself feel any more at ease though. “Yes, right. That’s exactly right. I– err, I don’t believe we’ve met before.”
”I’d say small caliber firearms like a handgun. Some say semi-auto’s are easy, but it’s really just preference.”
When it came down to it, any gun could save a life. She’s been using them for years— seen the damage they can inflict first-hand. It isn’t a pretty sight, but you get used to it.
“Ever use one before?”
It was a bit complicated– explaining that she did not have any use for the weapon because she had magical powers that could help aid her would only make the other believe that she was insane. Had you asked Hermione that when she was much younger, she would have thought the same.
“No, I have not. I suppose I am merely interested in learning– and possibly trying to handle one, just in case the opportunity ever arose where I had to.”
▌ —— It’s been a while since she’s actually felt remorse for being reprimanded, so she merely peers down at the ground, mussing at her hair anxiously.
“Sorry,” she finally murmurs. “I was just looking for my headache. I didn’t want to wake you up.”
“It’s okay,” she responded simply, moving over to her bag. Reaching her hand in, she mentally thanked that the girl seemed to not have noticed the rather.. never-ending inside of the bag, which had been charmed with m a g i c. Within a moment, she pulled out a small bottle; after checking to make sure that they were still alright to eat, she handed it over to her. “I believe there’s only a couple left in there. Just take one at first and see if it helps. It wouldn’t be good to over-dose since you’re still young.”
▌ —— The young girl jumps at the stern sounding voice and she slowly turns to face the other girl, amber eyes wide.
“Um… nothing?" she smiles widely, trying her best to feign innocence.
Hermione watched her, eyes not straying.
"I can clearly see that you’re rummaging through my bag. I do not blame you with the current circumstances, but it would have been better if you simply asked me.”
